Nothing like getting caught out in the rain.

I knew there was rain around.. so I pulled off to get gas, and when that stopped, I headed out.... yep, mistake. I was lucky to make it across the bridge and get under this one. That was a long and terrifying 1.8 miles.

I’m a bit moist.

Edit: I’m home safe now... no more rain on the way home... it was actually pleasant.

Definitely cuts down on my proclivity for stoplight wheelies, but other than that I've loved rain rides.

Silverwing. One of my favorite bikes that I’ve never ridden.

I lived in St. Louis for 20 years before moving to the Seattle area. After moving, my friends from St. Louis would ask me how I was able to deal with the constant rain in Seattle. It’s hard to explain that Seattle has mist, sprinkles and showers. I only see a St. Louis style rain twice in Seattle in the past decade.

I remember when Woods Mill Road had a flood gauge. The flash flooding could bring the water up 4 feet over the roadway surprisingly quickly.

Yes, there's a difference between raining and pouring. We get a little of all types here fairly often, but I think those hot summer showers with big drops are my favorite.

So rain would be fine, this was a downpour. I couldn’t see 100’ in front of me. I was afraid I was going to hit someone that I couldn’t see or someone would hit me. As I got off the highway here wa alike a flash flood of about 8-12” of water at the light. I’m so glad I got under the bridge to wait it out.

I actually chucked my sunglasses as I couldn’t wear them, and couldn’t see through the glasses, visor, both wet sides of the windshield... I am not one to litter either.. I do feel bad about it.

For a 500cc, it scoots.

That motorcycle is nicely proportioned.

Enough luggage space for an overnight, pretty comfortable with the back rest on the trunk. Since it is more of an upright riding bike, with good posture one could  ride all day.

Well I was at the gas station for 15-20 minutes longer than  just filling up.

I bet it moves out smartly, too. Not too much bike, but all the good features.

Didn’t they make a turbo version? Ah, the 80's; back when the Japanese Car and bike manufacturer’s went nuts.

The CX500 and GL500 are pretty much the Same motor. There was a CX500 Turbo.

And a CX650 Turbo! A buddy’s dad had one for a bit when I was getting into riding . It was a handful under boost - and n ot in a good way. Didn’t help that it was kind of a pig, too.

Along those lines - do you know anyone who actually uses an umbrella here (Seattle) ? I figure anyone bothering is probably a tourist.

I know of no natives and few long-term residents who use umbrellas. Most people that I know who have moved to the area carry an umbrella for a year or two before giving up.

Tourists mostly show up in the summer. I don’t know of many people who decide to visit Seattle in February.
